Our History
The 1970’s
International Production Machinery was founded as a union of two separate corporations Acme Scientific, a machine tool builder and General Machining, a job shop. Through the early years IPM was focused on various jobbing of parts such as Harley Davidson Engine housing and special machine tool building
The 1980’s
The company changes its name to IPM Precision Inc. and opens its tooling division partnering with Stellram Gmbh. During the 80’s IPM made strong inroads in the Aluminum Wheel Industry and the tooling division grew rapidly.
The 1990’s
IPM moves into our new 17,000 sq. ft facility in Barrington, IL and began running production for companies such as ZF Industries and Carl Zeiss Corporation
The 2000’s
The company began developing turnkey machining systems for the power generation, aviation, and medical industries by incorporating Benzinger & C. B. Ferrari machining lines. Thus expanding the product portfolio, to continue to drive IPM toward finding state of the art solutions for its current and prospective customers
